Barrier-free bathroom

As a general rule, only doors that are 80 cm or wider allow unhindered access. In order to be able to provide assistance from outside in the event of fainting or a fall, the door should be able to open outwards. At the same time, the walls must fulfil the requirements for anchoring handles and brackets.

The requirements stipulate that access to the shower cubicle must also be effortless with a rollator. It is advisable to keep to dimensions of at least 120 cm x 120 cm. For wheelchair users, it should be a little more spacious at 150 cm x 150 cm to provide sufficient room for manoeuvre.
